A Christ-centered home & programs for young moms who are facing unplanned pregnancies or parenting young children.

Join us as we celebrate the opening of our new Mother-Child home in Carlisle and help us thank God for the work He has done in and through this ministry! Our Mother-Child program is designed to meet the needs of young women and their new babies for up to 18 months. The program extends our Maternity program that assists young women facing unplanned pregnancies.

With this second home, we can provide women and children a safe home in which to live, while receiving services such as professional counseling, career planning, case management, internship opportunities, parenting skills, and additional life skills training to gain independence and stability.

It’s an exciting time to be part of this ministry—come celebrate with us on September 30th!

Jeremiah 33:6b -”Then this city (Ruth Harbor) will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all the nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it: and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.”

Ruth Harbor holds two major awareness and fundraising events each year. Be sure to follow us on Facebook & Twitter, and join our email list to be notified of these upcoming events and how you can get involved.

  • Our Walk For Life is a family-friendly outdoor event held in May, the Saturday prior to Mother’s day. Individuals, families, small groups and churches are encouraged to become “sponsored walkers” and join us for a 1.2-mile walk to celebrate and raise funds for the ministry.

  • Our Fundraising Banquet is held in November of each year. This is an adult-only, semi-formal banquet with an opportunity to listen to a guest speaker, be brought up-to-date on the ministry’s successes and dreams, and enjoy life-changing testimonies from our former residents.

Location:  Embassy Suites Downtown Des Moines
101 E Locust Street, Des Moines, IA
(Patio outside Riverview Lobby)

Registration begins at 9:00am
Walk begins at 9:30am

Since we laughed along with him at last year’s banquet, Mike Williams published two books: Don’t Stand Under a Flock of Angry Birds: Ancient Wisdom from A Modern App and The Parable of the Muddy Jeep: The Adventurous Life of Riding Shotgun with God. He has another book due out yet this fall entitled Bows & Arrows…Life lessons I learned while trying to hit my target. Mike has recorded 14 CDs, 4 DVDs, and written numerous other books. Nationally-known speaker and writer, he’s heard daily on SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Laugh USA channel. Mike came to popularity as a pro-life speaker after Focus on the Family brought his personal story of his own adoption and his son’s rescue and subsequent adoption to national spotlight.
