Bill Zook says the opportunity to serve young women with unplanned pregnancies to ensure they and their unborn babies are safe in God’s hands is what brought him to join Ruth Harbor’s board. Bill is the Store Manager at Super Target in West Des Moines, active in his local church, and is a past board member of the United Way of Story County. He’s also involved in many non-profit organizations through Target Stores including Habitat for Humanity, School Partnerships, Food Pantry, Highway Cleanup, National Night Out and others.
Becky Zemlicka Vice President (Board Director since 1996)
One of Ruth Harbor’s three original founders, Becky is most passionate about Ruth Harbor because, “It was the first clear calling from God I received. At the young age of 23, He asked me to serve Him by helping to start this ministry, and so I did. It’s been a blessing ever since.” Becky earned a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Northern Iowa and owns Mindz Eye Marketing. In addition to serving on Ruth Harbor’s board, Becky is also a director on the boards for Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp and the Iowa Credit Union Review Board. She volunteers in a variety of ways at her home church, Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.
Joe Mooney Treasurer (Board Director since 2012)
Joe Mooney is excited for the opportunity to serve in a ministry both he and his family believe in. A Des Moines native, Joe earned a degree from the University of Northern Iowa before taking a position with Principal Financial Group as an accountant.
Carmine Boal Secretary (Board Director since 2008)
Carmine Boal believes every life is precious in God’s sight and that we must show compassion and love for those who face an unplanned pregnancy. She says “This is done through assisting with the physical and practical needs of these women.” Carmine has served as a school board member and state representative for 10 years before currently serving as Chief Clerk of the Iowa House of Representatives. An active volunteer in her community, Carmine serves on the Board of Iowa Association of Christian Schools, is a member of the Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa and Faith Christian Fellowship. She also volunteers for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 37 years and they have three adult children.
Rosezine B. Wallace (Board Director since 2011)
Rosezine B. Wallace says she “accepted the opportunity to serve Ruth Harbor in hopes that my small contributions could enable the ministry in its efforts to see young women have more than a viable option to abortion, but a resource for getting both her life and her child’s life aligned with the plans and purposes of God. Every person should know that God does not discard people. He knows how to take the threads of our lives and weave them into a beautiful tapestry when all others only see broken threads. Ruth Harbor is a place of hope, help and wholeness.” Rosezine’s extensive education background includes a Masters of Theology from the Great Commission Bible Institute & Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is currently the Senior Pastor of Grow Up Ministries Church in Des Moines in addition to volunteering as Newsletter Editor for Gathering of Eagles, International.
